There are 3 good links on this page on hibernation.

Ya have to wind down a tort slowly, decreasing light, heat, and food. It takes a month of no food and daily soakings and less light.

The temps have to be about 5 degrees above freezing and 5 degrees below 50.

At 50 degrees the tort will starve to death because it is too warm to hibernate. With only 2 weeks without food the gut will not be empty and the food will rot.
