Sulcatta questions, Please read

Hi, I purchased tow 2-week old sulcattas at a reptile show (they're now about a month old). A friend told me that when they become adults they will typically dig 30-foot trenches in the yard especially when hibernating. Is this true? If so, how long will it take for them to grow to a "yard-destroying" size? I love the little guys and I want to keep them and set up a good home for them, but now I'm wondering what I got myself into. Any help would be really appreciated, benefits and drawbacks of this species.
