HI, I've been fighting a URI in one of my male Yellowfoots for several weeks now. After a course of injectable baytril failed to contain it my vet is going on to Amikacin along with another called Sulfatrim.
Good hydration is very importaint when using batril, etc. I have been tube feeding my guy every other day along with the oral sulfatrim. He seems a bit better - no more mucus in his nose and tounge is pink again. Hope all goes well. BTW, I was advised that normal temps are prefered over extra heat, heat is beneficial to the growth of the harmful bacteria.
