Interesting fact: the Bronx Zoo in NY exports their giant tortois population to Atlanta every Winter.

At any rate, I can recommend that you contact the nearest reptile keeper at the nearest zoo to answer your questions.

Reptile people at zoos take an active interest in breeding and they are very accomodating when it comes to free expert advice.

I have traded specimens from my collection with zoos. And I can vouche for the fact that you will make fast friends in the reptile house.
