I'm proud to say that I finally enlarged my sulcata's pen to a 32 X 48 ft enclosure. Nigel is one happy tort! He's perhaps a little TOO happy! The rascal took a grand tour of his new enclosure and promptly dug an escape tunnel under my house! I was really surprised because I didn't Move his pen...I just added on to his already existing pen. Nigel has never done more than BARELY scratch the surface to make a scrape to sleep in...but now that I give him lots of room to roam... he starts digging! Luckily, he decided that he wanted to sleep in HIS own tort "house" and I was able to block the tunnel...for now....

I think I'm really going to enjoy being able to open the back door and step out into the tort pen. It's hard to believe that there was a time when I had planned to keep him at my barn away from the house...I can't imagine having him out of my sight like that now.
