Hi. I have wanted to get a common box turtle for a long time. When I lived in California I remember always seeing them for 30-50 bucks but I wasn't ready to own one. Now I live in Canada and I am ready.
But I can't find any common box turtles or hardly any other box turtles. So after adopting an iguana and a bearded dragon, I decided adopting one is far better than buying from a pet store anyday.
So I went to turtle homes (for canada) and started filling out the application form. But it said a picture of enclosure was "mandatory" but I don't have any turtles, so I have no enclosure.
I have no idea what kind of turtles even need a home, so I have not built an actual enclosure, although lights/heaters/food/vet expenses are all readily available to me, I just didn't think building an enclosure before knowing even what type/size/age/special need/ etc boxie I might get would be the best idea. Anyone know if they will look at applications otherwise? I am very capable of providing what a turtle/tortoise needs. I just would prefer to adopt. So any links or ideas would help. I am in Canada! ;o)
