Thanks everybody for your help. As it turns out, I will not be adopting this fellow; there is no way I'd be able to provide him the correct setup, and he has been placed with someone else. I just don't have enough space, and have no backyard, or even balcony, to let him outside at will. Someday when I have lots of space, I will have a whole backyard full of turtle ponds and tortoise pens, and when that time comes, maybe a Red Foot will be for me.
