I called around early this morning to a dozen local petstores, most places were out of russian tortises. I found a place that had 5 of them and went to check them out. From the research I did, I determined that they were clean and healthy and safe to purchase. (They also came with a 15 day warentee!) I bought a boy and a girl. Since they had been living together in a large tank with 5 other tortises, I figured it would be safe to keep them in the same tank. Is this a correct assumption? The male has come out of his shell and moved around. The female came out when I held her at the store, but hasn't budged since! Also, I have a few questions if someone wouldn't mind answering them! How do you tell the age of a Russian Tortise? What is the best living quarters for them? (A tank, box, bin...?)
