You should take both to a qualified vet. They were most likely wild caught. Best place for them to live, outside in a fenced or walled in pen. Wildcaught animals never seem to do as well inside as out. Exact age is quite hard to estimate, however I am guessing yours if w.c. are subadults. Next time instead of calling your local pet stores, find a breeder. That way you could have gotten a c.b. baby russian, they are healthier, happier, and live longer than their w.c. counterparts. I am guessing the price of a c.b. baby (if you shopped around) would only be slightly more expensive, than what you paid.
