: Hi Giovanni,
: My torts are getting pretty big. Do you think something like this would keep Karl in or should I be thinking something else for the long haul?
: Thanks,
: tcc :)

Hey tcc,

Man that is absolutely beautiful your torts are gonna love it. As for his royal highness King Karl, he would eat it bare within 3 to 7 days and blast right over (or through) that wood.

That is a 20 to 30 lb sulcata zone you have there or one that doesn't understand what being "outdoors" is all about. Could be a personality issue too though, Karls brother doesnt move very far from his hut at all during the day and would probably do well there(seek refuge in the brush most of the time). Karl will rest through the hottest parts of the day and at about 5 pm will start patrolling his territory, and looking for me to toss him moss rose, hibiscus, cactus..whatever..then goes to sleep, or if I move him somewhere he understands that means STAY and will not budge from it. My backyard just has alot of perimeter space for the "march' which will kill everything you plant on the edges, so it is best to leave a foot or so of dirt around the perimeter..or it will be dirt soon enough..lol. A few hibicus, mulberry, figs in the center (grouped together) will create a nice shade zone and place to hide. The place is awesome, great job:)

Ciao'

Giovanni
