Panacur suspension (100mg/ml) is dosed at
25 mg/kg or 10 mg/lb, given orally once every
2 weeks. It generally requires a minimum of three
treatments to eliminate nematode parasites. It can
also be administered to turtles and tortoises by
mixing it with their feed.
I believe we gave Teddy 3 treatments at 2 weeks
apart then he tested negative. I waited a month
and retested him and it was still negative. Now
he's tested every 6 months. So far always negative.
So 3 treatments of once every 2 weeks would give
you 6 treatments (possibly a bit much), but
certainly not daily treatment for 6 weeks straight!!!
Better double check on that, also find out exactly
what "worms" your vet is treating for, there are
different treatments for different types of parasites.
Let me know what the vet says about the worm "type"
they are treating for.
