Little Hoku my baby sulcata was on Amikacin before I got him.
The vet his previous owner took him too put him on Amikacin, he was only 46 grams at that time.
My vet switched him to Baytril, which cleared up his respiratory problems very quickly.
I've noticed that Hoku drinks much more than any sulcata I've seen. He also passes a lot of urates, very soft but lots of it. When I first got him he would pass clear urine, but it was quite thick.
I hope that Amikacin hasn't messed up his little kidneys.
Terry.
.......Amikacin is a nephrotoxic drug. Hydration must be monitored very closely because this drug is very rough on the kidneys.
