Runny in leopards can be normal. If there is no mucus associated with it and no sign of congestion monitor it but don't take any action unless it worsens. The runny nose might be caused by many environmental factors in addition to or besides any kind of pathogens.
I've heard Baytril can cause allergic reactions in the tortoises mentioned but have not experienced it myseslf. I've used it very successfully on both Stars and Leopards in addition to many other tortoises. I also use an oral form of baytril in tablet form to avoid giving shots. I believe some damage is done besides the discomfort that is produced by administering shots. I've been very successful using the oral form when needed.
Amikacin is a nephrotoxic drug. Hydration must be monitored very closely because this drug is very rough on the kidneys.

: I took him to a "tortoise vet" whose knowledge of tortoises was very unimpressive. After looking at him for under a minute, he started him on Baytril, and started him on a one week course of treatment. The question is, should I treat my other leopards who were in the same pen? They look great, and have absolutely no nasal discharge.
: Thanks.
