: I agree with Marissa's post.

: But you told us very little.
: Can you explain in detail how the tortoise is housed?
: Type of enclosure, substrate, temperatures day and night.Lighting, what type?
: Also let us know what you're feeding it, explain exactly how it's housed and what it's diet is.

: Does it have drinking water?

: Get back to us with much more info, we can only help if we know what's wrong. Could be something simple that can easily be corrected.

: However the first thing you should do is follow Marissa's advise and get it to a qualified vet.

: So post again with much more info, get it to a vet ASAP and visit sulcata station linked below.

: Terry.

i did take him to a vet who specializes in exotic pets, but obviously i forgot to mention that. the vet gave me antibiotics which are helping, i can tell because his nose isn't runny anymore. he has had this "cold" for about 5 days and it is finally clearing up, but he is still very sleepy and not very hungry and we are not finding any drippings so we are not sure if he is constapated. we have been feeding him dandylion leaves, spinach leaves, and carrot tops. then we realized that he needed to have certain vitamins and calcium so we got special food for tortoise that has everything he needs in it. we are now trying to get him switched. he likes thier color but hasn't really tryed them yet.
enclosure: large clear rubbermaid tote that is 1' by 2' with bark blend lizard litter pre
miun reptile bedding he also has a full spectrum day-light heat bulb and a full spectrum night bulb
we just realized that he needs a uvb bulb and we are in the process of getting one.
yes he does have clean drinking water.
his daytime temp is around 80, and night is around 72.
my questions are: how much time should he be sleeping? and, how much should he be eating? and how do you think i am doing with all of the above so far?
thanx
Carey
