You should have mentioned you were to the vet, that makes a big difference. As far as recouperation...it sounds like you need to have a hotter basking spot (oh boy, here we go EJ). If your bulb wattage is not making the hot zone hot enough, up the wattage or make the lamp closer but not closer than 8" or so. As far as switching to a commercial tortoise food, don't get sucked in by convenience and advertising...and DON'T switch foods...stick with a more natural diet...what you are using is good, elaborate more on it. Get a calcium and vitamin powder, Terry's instructions were good, follow them. Another care sheet is attached below...keep us posted :)
