One of the few things about the sulcata that the majority will agree is that they are primarily grazers. Grasses should be the majority of their diet but they can do well on other stuff.

I don't have a sulcata and never will because I don't have the space for it and I live on the east coast with our winters. But I will always admire and enjoy learning about them. It truly is a shame what these animals are sometimes put through.

: hello, my name is meaghan and i have recently been given an african spurred tortoise... i am aware this turtly will be HUGE someday but my problem is getting this little guy on a good diet and knowing exactly how to care for him. I have proper heating and keep the temp at about 80F all of the different books i read contrast in what to feed him. he is very small and i want him to live a long and happy turtle life. any suggestions??? thanks for your help.
