What kind of Tortoise should I get?

My 3 1/2 year daughter old wants a Tortoise.
I am looking for a species that will stay as
small as possible, eats greens, and is relatively
low maintenance. The tortoise would be in my garage
where it gets to be 50 deg in the winter.

A Russian Tortoise has been suggested. Does anyone
have any other receomendations?
