Chris, If you go back and reread the post I was responding to the presumptiousness of the individual that you fed too much protein. Personally I thought the tortoise was in good shape. See, there is a faction out there that believes protein is the cause of all problems. I'm trying to fight this concept and enstill the idea that it is a balance between a number of factors that is responsible for abnormal growth.
Protein is necessary. It is the basic building block for growth. Also, fiber is a form of protein. So you see protein is not bad. Imbalance is bad.
