My russians went thru a mid-summer period of
eating less and losing a little weight.
Now they are back to eating like pigs, and the
female has grown a little.
It's important to observe and record weights
so you can see that they go thru cycles. Your
tortoise will be reacting to your weather conditions
and in some sense attempting to follow the cycle
he had in his previous home.
I wouldn't go to the vet unless he shuts down
completely during a peak period (like late
spring and summer) and stays down for more than
2 weeks.
