Well,
I have had my tort since May... (YES HE DID SEE A VET - no parasites)
Lately he has gone back and forth from eating like a pig to barely eating at all. (within a couple weeks time)
Now he seems uninterested in eating... I think he eats a little, and when I let him out in the yard to graze... he does, but mimimal to what he used to do. It is still in the 80's here...
but it looks as if he is preparing for hibernation... I think he is fairly young (WC) but... since this is my first year with him... I plan to overwinter him... besides he is NOT at an ideal weight to hibernate... He has a dishgarden in his pen (but I can't tell if he has taken a bite out of it. And he does poop and pee (not as much as he did before) And just this weekend he was really active... Actually he decided to talk a walk down the street... It was so cute... (looked like a minature version of King Karl - even though he is a Russian and not a Sulcata) At what point do I say... GOTTA GO BACK TO THE VET... how many days of scaled back totally (eating).... His eyes are fine (not sunken and not oozing and not swollen - normal... NO prob with his nose... So What's up with the hunger strike? (and I have not changed his diet... he didn't even want the strawberry I gave him yesterday - and he hadn't had a fruit in awhile) So HELP! I don't want to lose him...
