Russian tort enclosure

Hi! I'm usually over at the veiled chameleon forum, but I want to purchase a Russian tortoise for my 13-year old nephew on his birthday (September 17), so here I am!:^) My brother (his dad) and I want it to be a surprise, so I want to buy a setup, keep him/her at my house for about a month and then give it to my neph on his birthday. Any recommendations for a good enclosure, both for the short term and the long term (indoors)? I'm sure my brother will have fun building an outdoor pen with his son (my bro is an engineer), but they live in NJ, so they will need an indoor setup. Any help would be appreciated....the more suggestions the better. Glass aquarium? Rubbermaid storage tub? How big? Let me know. Thanks.
