rubbermaid makes great temp enclosures. i use them for my babies, but i wouldn't use them for a russian over about three inches. kiddie pools do work great. that's what i would go with for now. they move fairly easily. with russians, the bigger you can get the better. they are really active. they like to dig, burrow, climb, etc. the can escape out of just about anything. don't place any rocks or mounds of dirt near the edges. i have dirt, rocks, grasses, wood chips, and a dog house in our russian enclosure. they also have a tree and a bush for shading. they have a log to crawl around too. don't let them get bored! good luck. sonja
