Hibiscus indoors?

Hi all.
I noticed a few posts down someone mentioned hibiscus for sale at home depot in a gallon container. Forgive me if I am plant ignorant, but can these plants grow inside? I live in a condo so I can't plant them outside, although I could put it out on my back porch during the summer. I have a nice size window box and have been trying to get ideas for smaller edible flowers, but i can hardley find anything small enough to grow inside. Luckily, I have a flowershop right down the street that sells just rose petels!!
