: I have a trio, and they are all a year or under, but my concern is to avoid pyramiding as much as possible. Any advice? I know adequate UVB is important, as well as calcium/phosphorus balance. I do have a very good book about sulcatas, the only one I've been able to find, but there is only one line mentioning pyramding. Any assistance would be very appreciated!
: Thanks...

Kirstin,
Check out different sites, like Sulcata Station, Tortoise Trust, California Turtle & Tortoise Club, The Care Centre...Diet, calcium and natural sunlight seem to be most important. Don't offer any high protein foods (dog food, cat food, commercial turtle/tortoise foods), supplement with calcium (phosphorus isn't necessary; that's found naturally in high enough levels in the foods he should be eating), and allow them an environment as close to the conditions they would experience in their natural habitat. I've listed my favorite sulcata site below. Good luck.
Kathy
