How does someone guestimate the proper dosage of injectable Baytril to be orally injested? Who can determine how much will be absorbed in the stomach lining and how much will be destroyed by the stomach acids? Too much...opps it's dead. It's o.k. to blame it on the originally suspected bacteria and much easier to acept than admitting that you just poisioned your own tortoise. Too little....oh well, guess it didn't work and the tortoise still died. Or maybe the tortoise lived and you've created a stronger bacteria by using the wrong dosage and strengthened the strain.
ALL animals and All people have reactions to ALL medications. A negative reaction usually means you should try another drug and not attempt to find another entry point for the same drug.
Perhaps a Baytril suppository is in the works...?
