But you didn't answer the question (again) to a very good point. These tortoises are almost fanatical in this behavior. I too wondered what's the deal with that.

: Yes. They can form very addictive dietary habits very quickly... and it can take quite a while to lose them.

: Not a good idea - dog feces is typically loaded with unpleasant parasites..... camel and goat feces is probably a lot safer! .
