: Hi all:

: I currently live in an apartment but will (hopefully) be a home owner in the next 6-12 months. I have a small (5") Leopard Tort that I have no problem keeping but who I want to let outdoors from time to time. I can do this at least weekly at my parents' place but that means about a 45 minute car ride. Will the ride cause my little guy needless stress or will it be okay for him? I have transported him in the past in a sturdy storage box with a sheet wadded into the bottom to cushion him.

: Thanks in advance for your advice.

Andrew,
Once a week shouldn't be a problem. I have done this when I lived in an apartment, and kept my 4" Hermanns in a large opaque storage box during the smooth, mostly freeway ride. He didn't seem to mind it a bit, and is very healthy and growing steadily.
This is, of course, jusy my opinion. I'm no vet.
