I have had Peewee, about 8" and Bubba, about 12" for almost 4 years now. I rescued them from a fish tank, one night time red heat light, and a diet of corn and lettuce. I think they were around 2 when I got them, not sure.
The thing is,Bubba did a complet turn around literally over night. He/she went from being very shy and NEVER comming out in the open,to eating from my hand and hardly ever sitting still in one day last week. Here's the problem,he/she will scratch, claw, and dig at every wall and courner of the table, and if I move the plants and rocks so he can't he will lay in the middle and sorta swim, scratching the floor. They get out in the house but it's the same thing. I assumed they were males because their tails are always plastered to the side, but I just got a good look when they were in the tub and they are both very short and fat. So not sure yet. They get along great, and I have never seen any male trates from ether one. Could this be hormonal or does this just happen with maturity? Just a phase I hope. Bubba's driving every one nuts. Even Peewee seems shocked.
Any thought's?
