yeah a glass tank is the pits, better is an indoor pen but a rubbermaid tub is fine for starters at least. A basking bulb in one end is fine, make sure it's not too high wattage or making the tub too hot (use thermometer to gauge temps). Full-spectrum lighting isn't really what you need, you need UVB lighting. I'd get a Reptisun 5.0% bulb (made by ZooMed, can be bought online at www.herpsupplies.com or www.beanfarm.com) and put it in a fluorescent light fixture (from Home Depot) to lay across the length of the tub. You can probably just lay it right across the tub..don't know if you would need a special rack even. Heat and UVB light on in daytime, off at night. Room temps should be at least 70F though.
