Sorry BGF, but for over 90% of extant and known species of venomous snakes, their formal naming came long before molecular tests on their venoms. There was no need for me to engage in these prior to describing the taxa and there are no regrets on my part.
Or perhaps only in that after I have split the various taxa into component species, which you have readily adopted in terms of testing these individual types, as seen in your paper's results, that at this late stage, you pretend that the data to separate them is insufficient.
(At least you could credit me with pointing you in the right direction?)
Who knows, maybe in 2009 you may finally get a grip on reality.
However, X-mas teaches forgiveness and I will happily forgive your errors until then.
