Acclimating red-eyed croc skinks

Hi everyone,

We finally got our pair of croc skinks (one male, one female). Unfortunately, we were unable to find juvenile captive-born lizards, so we had to settle for wild-caught adults. The vendor assured us that they were acclimated and they appeared healthy and active at the show.

Now that they are in their new terrarium, they are showing signs of stress (as expected), i.e. hiding (female) and very little movement (male). We would have loved to post pics, but because of their stress, we would rather give them the opportunity of acclimating before handling them any further. :-)

Does anyone have any experience with wild-caught tribs? How long does it usually take for these lizards to acclimate to a new environment? We're guessing 2-4 weeks as is the case with iguanas, but we still have a lot to learn about this lizard species.

Thanks! Oh, by the way, their names are Loki and Sigyn. :-)

Julie :-)
