If calcium carbonate is unsafe and rep-cal isn't that great in this case...what about cuttle stone? Would that be safe for cresteds?

I know a cuttle fish is a small squid like marine animal but I don't know if they tend to carry a high toxic heavy metal content as alot of fresh water fish do.
