They are good birds but you MUST give it a lot of attention and they can be VERY loud. (You wouldn't think a little bird like that could be that loud but they are.) Otherwise they are great little birds. How big is the cage she's offering? You may want to upsize it if it's only cockatiel cage size. And get lots of good toys also.
