I don't have to put my male in with my female for awhile or for the rest of the year. I thought they could only hold sperm for a few months? I was going to put him it next weekend to refresh things. LOL

No she had laid her first before I got her. The second clutch, my one egg, I think was because she had been moved and it stressed her out. My 'other' female that I got at the same time was a week or so along when I got her, but she never laid. She had had a previous clutch as while. And she didn't lay a month after that. I figured I could put Drako in there to get her to lay again. *shrugs* I dunno what happen with her. She just didn't lay.

Thanks,
Liz

:Liz,
:I did not know that she recently laid eggs! I thought she hasn’t laid in 2-3 months like you said, but it has only been 39 days. Cresteds typically lay clutches every 30-40 days after initial copulation. They can hold sperm throughout the season, the reason the first clutch was not fertile was prob because it was her first. It sometimes happens. So yes the reason why she did not want to mate was because she was already gravid. You are not going to need to put her with the male till next year now, so keep him away. Otherwise I hope your all ready with the incubator.
