Do RES get more friendly over time? I've had my res for 6 months and it still freaks out when I walk by. The only time its brave is when its begging for food.
I just inherited another baby res and he supposed kept it in a little terrarium in the living room and changed the water every day. (didn't know how to take care of it which is why I got it). Junior was supposedly very friendly.

I bought it home and the first day he was very curious and swam around even when I was right in front of him. Now he is even more scared than my first turtle! I haven't done anything traumatic and in fact gave him a nice big warm tank with basking area. Its almost like the first turtle told him to run away from me. Can I expect a lifetime of scaredy turtles?
