They are in the living room which is pretty high traffic. But every time I walk by they freak! So I put up a little cover so it shields the front of the tank sometimes when I know I'll be moving around a lot. I've had Slider for 6 months and he still is freaky but recently not so much. He'll run away but calm down quickly. The other (junior) freaks out at any movement or sound and hides out in his cave for a while. Maybe I just got unlucky with two scared Res.

I've got plenty of time to wait.

:Can you put them in a more "High traffic" area of the house? The more they see you and associate you with chow the better. Mine are always skitish right after hibernating (they are outside in a pond), but with more people walking by the pond they come around.
