How to tame 4 ft aggressive everglades rat snake

I own a four foot everglades rat snake that a friend of mine gave to me because he said "he's kindof nippy", hes more then kindof, hes hell. So I hope that someone could tell me a way to tame this thing. It's a real pretty snake and I dont wont to give it up. I want to tame it so any help will be appreciated.
