: Is this trait a fluke in the wild, like albinism, or is there a locality where this trait occure often?
At one time, blondes were only thought to occur in Brewster Co. Texas (around the Xmas Mts.). They are found elsewere from time to time and seem to be more wide spread than previously believed.
What about the silver subocs - is there a region where some exist in wild populations?
A collector once told me he found a "silver" suboc south of Alpine but who knows! I believe the trait originated from a WC snake but I don't *think* they are thought to hale from a particular locale.
