In Reply to: Blonde Trans-Pecos rats: is there a wild population? posted by mmg on November 18, 1999 at 17:40:09:
: Is this trait a fluke in the wild, like albinism, or is there a locality where this trait occurs often? What about the silver subocs - is there a region where some exist in wild populations? One more - why does the silver trait always accompany the blonde trait? Just curious.
I think that the silver subocs are one of the captive bred wonders, blonde phase subocs do occur in at least one area in Texas in the wild with some regularity.
