Never trust a Rat snake!!!

OK, I just get home from school. My friend calls me. I go to my room to answer the phone. As I am talking to my friend, my little Taiwan beauty rat snake was out in her cage....roaming around....So i decide to take her out. Well....one hand was occupied by the phone, and the other was opening the cage. I lift it up and my ratsnake scales the aquarium side! She sits at the top...and looks at me....ALmost smiling...Then she jumps out of the cage onto the floor(shes a 18inch snake and it was a 3 foot drop!) I attempt to grab her but she turns around and strikes at me, and being the novice that I am...I let go... So...she runs free! Into a pile of junk. I finally retrieved her, after 5 minutes of chasing. I put her in the cage and looked at my room. It was totally messy and stunk of snake musk! I cant wait till my snakes get their own room!

p.s... I might have grabbed her too hard. I was pinning down her tail. I feel bad. Im going to watch her a few days, just to make sure she is ok. Happy Herping!
