these eggs were found buried under sand and old decaying carpeting. Finding (without destroying) clutches of eggs from elaphe or close relatives can help with determining good medium or other key notes for captive incubation methods. I had several dead-in-egg snakes last year, and some previous years also. I note this because I am still in awe of an animals sense of know-how.
