Up here in Canada, the blk. rats tend to be very dark, also in the areas around upper New York state & Pennsylviana I've noticed what mature specimens I've caught in those area were quite dark in color. Quite the contrast to what I'd catch in Missouri, some of which almost resembled an Anytheristc Corn.

Any comments Dwight???
