I caught a black rat snake last autumn by my mailbox, and he was a blackish-green color with really dark pattern. I only kept it for a few minutes, long enough to check it out and be amazed at his color. Almost kept it, but went ahead and turned it loose.

: Brian, Kyle and I have each posted pics of our Kentucky locale black rat snakes. Mine being from the Guthrie area, Brian's south of Lousiville and Kyle's from Northern Kentucky. Kyle has mentioned that his looks different from Brian's, etc. This seems to hold true with that fact you mentioned that Kentucky has one of the most varied black rat snakes. They have had alot of different locale influences. If you wiil, can you please look back over the last few days and see our posts of pics. Does this look indicative of what we should see in Kentucky as far as different locales? Thanks for your time.
