Dwight had mentioned Kentucky had the most or one of the most varialble black rat snakes. I've seen posts of pics of black rats from Missouri and other states and they don't seem to have such a variable color within the same state. Just my observation; that may not be the case. Of course this interest in black rat snakes comes from me and my favorite North American rat snake is the Texas rat snake. Go figure.
