: We opened our mountain home this weekend and were greeted by two large black rat snakes inside, one about 7 feet long, the other about 6. We chased them both off with exhaust from a vacuum cleaner, but they returned again and again. I suspect a nest, but don't know where to look. Please give me any suggestion on where to look so we can figure out how to protect them.
Hi, They are probably searching for rodents in the cabin. They also might be a pair this is breeding season a little late though. The best way would be to bag them and transport them several miles away from the cabin.Although you might want to consider leaving them around to eat the rats and mice.Buddy.
