have never picked up anything from a snakebite, I've got over 30 ratsnakes, most are friendly but I have a pair of Tiger rats that are thriving well on fingers & thumbs ;-)

Probably wouldn't hurt to ask your Doctor just to put your mind @ ease. Keep us posted & good luck.
