Hi Terry - I made a post on the forum several months ago and stated the Great Plains ratsnake as E. emoryi. Terry made a post stating what he has just stated on this thread. He gave me a link to contact Dr. Vaughan and she sent me a copy of the work. It definately states that it is E. guttata emoryi. I think it goes back to when it was listed as E. emoryi and we just don't let it go. The same thing happened to the bullsnake. It used to be P. sayi sayi and now its P. catenifer sayi. Alot of people think the bullsnake should still be aligned with the pine snake and they are hesitant to let it go.
