In Reply to: thanks Chris and Bill ---one more question posted by Jo ann on October 21, 1999 at 19:14:02:
: : I'm breeding both the Greens and Greys. They may be only (and probably) color phases but the difference in temperment, acclimitization rates, and ease of keeping are tremendous! The Greys are more like Corn Snakes while the Greens , well if you already have one you know all about them already!
: make that 2 questions-they are color phases not ssp-yes?
: 2 can they cross with Elaphe species?? Just curious.
: Gee the green guy isn't all that bad.

The Bartlett book on Corns and Other Rats(sponsored by Barron's Educational Series)has pictures of these beautiful snakes, both the green and gray(they called them color phases),and I quote them here "Given the Immense variation of color..."could you post a picture of your snakes?I would like very much to see them.
The text went on to state they are "poor captivity candidates",but I suppose they mainly meant wc.Please post more information on how you are doing with yours;I would like to hear.
Cordially,
JL
