Can you post a picture for ID purposes ?
Also, when did you find it ? If it's a hatchling that you found recently they can be a bit temperamental when it comes to feeding (especially after the shock of being picked up and brought into the house)

You may also need to check the legal ramifications of bringing in a wild snake (hatchling or not).
