DO i have to brumate my snake????????

Hello I live IN Ontario Canada and I have a Albino black rat. And I fed him last about a month ago he was at 3 fuzzies a week, then after his shed he just hasnt been interested... i even tried hoppers nothing.... someone said brumate but he still roams around the tank goes up top etc, still active... goes to warm spot etc.... So the pet store i went to said i just have to keep the temp normal and try every week or every other week to see if he will eat , so any info will be great.... thanks
